The Grand Summit

The ELABE Report

On June 12, the Grand AI Summit with NOUS brought together key players in the field of artificial intelligence, policymakers, businesses, and citizens around a shared goal: to make AI a driver of progress for everyone.

On this occasion, the Hauts-de-France Region exclusively unveiled a new survey conducted by Elabe to gauge the French public’s attitude toward artificial intelligence. The first key finding: 65% of French people already use AI. However, adoption remains highly uneven depending on age, region, and socioeconomic status. For some, AI has become an everyday tool; for others, it remains a distant concept.

Yet the expectations are clear: 75% of French people want AI to simplify administrative procedures, 70% want it to be integrated into school curricula, and 62% prefer French or European AI. Their priorities are just as clear: protecting personal data, ensuring that the final decision remains in human hands, and preventing abuses.

This survey shows that the French don’t expect less from AI, but rather AI that is better explained, better regulated, and accessible to everyone.
